Dad Fatally Stabbed While Visiting Children

HOUSTON -- A man was fatally stabbed when he went to visit his children at a west Houston apartment complex on Monday, KPRC Local 2 reported.Houston police said Miguel Flores, 42, died at the Whittfield Apartments on Whittington Drive near Dairy Ashford Street at about 9 p.m.Flores did not immediately ask for help after he was stabbed, detectives said."It appears that he walked around the complex for a while," Sgt. John Shirley said. "Apparently he had been stabbed for a while before he actually collapsed."Investigators said Flores wandered down a sidewalk and walked up a flight of stairs before he fell to his knees and died.He suffered stab wounds to his chest, detectives said.Police said their investigation has been challenging because of a lack of eyewitnesses to the stabbing.
