UPDATED: 6:08 pm CDT May 2, 2008

A teacher who was found with a 16-year-old during a traffic stop has been arrested, KPRC Local 2 reported Friday.

Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said Rebecca Ann Bramlett, 44, was arrested in Galveston and booked into the Fort Bend County Jail on a sexual assault charge.

Bramlett was caught with the teen at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday and told detectives that the boy was her boyfriend, officials said.

Fort Bend Independent School District officials said Bramlett was put on administrative leave from her position at Baines Middle School on Monday, but she resigned on Tuesday. Bramlett had worked in the school district since 2000.

Bramlett's bond was set at $46,000.

She is married with children.

The teen's parents said they were not aware of the relationship.
