Trainer Takes Polygraph In Clemens Case
By Carl Willis
Carl Willis Reports
Kelley said he took an extra step to back up his claim by taking part in a polygraph test that he said was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation."They asked me if I had anything to do with Roger Clemens and the distribution of growth hormone or steroids, and answered it no; and if I knew Roger Clemens, and I answered it no," Kelley said.Kelley said FBI agents came to him Monday and he took the polygraph on Wednesday. The FBI is investigating whether Clemens committed perjury when he denied using performance-enhancing drugs while testifying before a congressional committee.Kelley feels that he will soon be exonerated. He also hopes this will help Clemens."Hopefully, it proves that he's innocent, which I know he is, but it also gives me closure," Kelley said.Clemens' reputation has taken a few hits but Kelley believes. His actions could turn the tide for the rocket."I just feel good about what I voluntarily did," Kelley said. "Now, the accusers- it all turns back on them."Clemens is also dealing with a possible sex scandal involving country singer Mindy McCready, when she was a teenager. McCready confirmed the affair, but Clemens said they were just friends.
