Missing Boater's Body Possibly Found

HOUSTON -- A missing boater's body may have been found on a beach, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.

Anthony Drake disappeared March 13 after he left Beach Access Road 1 in Surfside to fish from oilrig.

The U.S. Coast Guard and volunteers with Texas EquuSearch spent several days looking for Drake, 26, and his 14-foot boat.

Surfside police said they found a body on a beach in Port O'Connor on Monday. Investigators said the body matches Drake's description, but an autopsy will be done for positive identification.

Officials said Drake's boat was found 12 miles south of Port O'Connor.
