HOUSTON -- A northwest Harris County high school teacher accused of having an improper relationship with a student will not go to prison, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.
Carlos Valencia, 43, agreed to a plea bargain with prosecutors to serve five years deferred adjudication.

Valencia will also pay a $500 fine.
He was fired from his teaching position.
