A missing pregnant woman has been found dead in a shallow grave nearly 80 miles from where she was last seen alive, deputies told KPRC Local 2 Monday.

Walker County sheriff's deputies said a water district employee found Tierra Lechall Adams' body partially buried about a quarter-mile east of Interstate 45 near Pinedale Road near Huntsville, Texas, on Wednesday.

Huntsville, Texas, is about an hour north of Houston. The city is home to Sam Houston State University and the unit where Texas executes death row inmates.

Adams, 25, was last seen on Jan. 28. She was expected to give birth to a baby girl on Valentine's Day.

"I guess people will say I have closure," said Rose Adams, Tierra Adams' mother. "But she doesn't have justice. She didn't ask for that. No one would."

Investigators said Tierra Adams was still pregnant when she was found. Detectives said she appeared to have been in a 14-inch grave for four to six weeks.

Deputies said that clothing and tattoos on the body led to her identification. The cause of her death is under investigation, officials said.

Officials said tire marks found in the mud showed someone backed in before her body was buried.

Rose Adams said her daughter's boyfriend, Neriah Roberts, told her that the two got into an argument after he caught Tierra Adams smoking in his house and he dropped her off in the 12200 block of North Houston Rosslyn Road near State Highway 249 at 1 a.m. on Jan. 29.

Houston police said Roberts gave them an initial statement but refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Rose Adams said she thinks Roberts is to blame. She said detectives told her Roberts made a cellular phone call near the gravesite.

"It was more than a coincidence," she said. "You know what you did, so why would you have us over there on a wild goose chase?

Detectives said they want to talk to Roberts, but have been unable to find him. Investigators said they have executed search warrants at his home.

If an autopsy confirms Tierra Adams' pregnancy at the time of her death, charges against anyone charged in her killing would automatically be capital murder.
