Mother Charged In Porn Case Involving Daughter

A Montgomery County mother was arrested after deputies found pornographic pictures of her young daughter in her home, officials told KPRC Local 2 Thursday.

Sheriff's deputies raided a mobile home at the Shady Acres Trailer Park in the 1000 block of East Dallas Street on Tuesday expecting to find cocaine and bootleg beer.

They confiscated a freezer full of beer and drug paraphernalia, officials said. But they didn't expect to find alleged pornographic photographs of a 6-year-old girl and her mother, Maria Quijano, according to investigators.

"They were there because of the narcotics and the beer, and she made the one statement to identify her daughter. Once she realized saying that's my daughter, then they found the other pictures with her in the picture with her daughter, she didn't say anything," said Montgomery County Sheriff Tommy Gage said.

Quijano lived there with the girl and her three other children.

Her husband, Pedro Quijano, was not home when the deputies arrived, but he is wanted for questioning now. He was allegedly also pictured in some of the photos, officials said.

Next door, Alexandra Diaz said she and other neighbors saw the police come, but did not know what they'd found.

"This is bad because these are children and don't know how to defend themselves," Diaz said.

The Quijanos' children have been placed with relatives. Their mother remains in the Montgomery County Jail, charged with possession of child pornography.

Deputies also took a computer out of the home, which is being checked for pornography.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department wants anyone with information about Pedro Quijano's whereabouts, or with any information about the case, to call 936-760-5800.
