'Good Samaritan' Killer Gets Life

HOUSTON -- A man accused of murdering a Good Samaritan pleaded guilty on what was supposed to be the first day of his trial, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.Keith Hines will spend the rest of his life in prison and will not be eligible for parole.He was charged with murder and several robberies.
Steven Jackson, 47, was shot and killed after he saw a robbery at a Humble Shell gas station on 1003 FM 1960 and followed the getaway car on Dec. 5, 2006.Jackson was a volunteer firefighter in the Porter area.
