GALVESTON, Texas -- A jet-skier got stranded in a lake, but the United States Coast Guard helped him get to dry land, KPRC Local 2 reported.
A boater called the Coast Guard after spotting the man on Jones Lake near Texas City at about 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The Coast Guard sent out a helicopter. The boater guided the chopper to the man, who was stranded in shallow waters.
About an hour and a half after getting the call for help, the man was hoisted up to the helicopter and taken to the Coast Guard station in Galveston.
"Not many boats transit Jones Lake during the week," search and rescue specialist Gene Davis said. "He was lucky to be spotted and rescued in such a short amount of time."
Paramedics checked out the man and treated him for mild hypothermia.
