A Houston-area mother was arrested by Katy Independent School District police after walking her kids to school and for attending her daughter's DARE graduation.

"I locked my car, walked my kids across the sidewalk, took them to the gate and kissed them goodbye. The police waited behind the gate and then arrested me," said Lisa Babin.

Babin was charged with criminal trespassing. In a letter sent by Katy ISD, Babin was warned not to go on campus at Schmalz Elementary school, and if she wanted to go on campus she needed permission.

Part of the letter read, "Due to recent disruptions that your presence, demeanor and actions have caused at Schmalz Elementary, it has become necessary to restrict your access to facilities and staff."

Babin said the principal has a personal problem with her because she asks too many questions.

"There are things I want to know and I have a right to know because my tax dollars are paying for it. I'd ask simple things like why is a first-grader only allowed to go to the restroom three times a day and why am I not getting the homework incomplete?" said Babin.

But the school said it's more than that. Katy ISD said Babin has threatened the principal, Karen Ladner, and staff members for years.

District officials said they have recorded conversations of Babin saying, "You know, God help (Principal) Mrs. Ladner -- if I walked up to her lying on the ground, knowing CPR, I could just take my long black heel and jab it deep into her chest."

Babin said that is all one big lie and claims the school district uses and abuses her as a scapegoat.

"It's my job to protect my children and watch over their health and make sure they are happy, safe and secure," said the mother of two.

Babin's daughter Kay, who is in the fifth grade at Schmalz Elementary, does not like going to school anymore. She said it is just not fun.

"When I see the principal, I just want to turn away and hope she goes away forever, " Kay Babin said.

Lisa Babin said all she wants is for her kids to have a good education from a free and public school.

Babin will face a judge on Wednesday about her charges.
