Driver Dies In Rollover Wreck

HOUSTON -- A driver died after he crashed his pickup truck into a ditch in northwest Harris County, KPRC Local 2 reported.Harris County sheriff's deputies said Gerhard Schumacher was traveling at a high rate of speed on Windfern Road near Fox Road at about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday.Investigators said Schumacher was unable to complete a 90-degree turn and ended up crashing into a ditch.The pickup truck flipped over.Officials said Schumacher, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.Deputies said they think alcohol played a role in the crash.
