FRIENDSWOOD, Texas -- A teacher has been accused of having an improper relationship with a teenage student, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Friendswood police said Jill Lewis, 26, turned herself in on Thursday.
Investigators said Lewis was a teacher at a Brazoria County private school and the 17-year-old was a student at the school. Police did not release the name of the school to protect the victim.
The alleged incident that took place in December did not happen on school grounds, police said.
Lewis has been charged with a second-degree felony and is eligible for two to 20 years in prison and the possibility of a $10,000 fine if convicted. She was released from the Galveston County Jail on $30,000 bond.
