Drivers Hit Furniture Falling On Freeway

HOUSTON -- Several cars needed repair after they hit furniture that fell onto a freeway late Sunday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston police said a pickup truck spilled its load on the northbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway near Beechnut Street shortly after 10 p.m.

Many drivers swerved to avoid the mess, but a few ended up slamming into a couch, a mattress and other items on the road.

One man crashed his new car.

Witnesses said the driver of the pickup truck stopped to see if he could salvage anything but quickly drove away.
