Boy, 12, Identified As Gulf Freeway Victim

POSTED: Friday, December 21, 2007

A 12-year-old boy was identified as the victim hit numerous times on the Gulf Freeway, KPRC Local 2 reported Friday.

On Thursday morning, the Gulf Freeway near Edgebrook Drive was shut down for more than four hours after several vehicles struck a person on the highway.

The medical examiner said the victim was Traveon Jamel Jordon Leblanc, who lived about a block from the accident.

Police said the drivers might not have realized that they ran over a child because there was severe weather at the time.

It is not known how the boy was hit or why he was on the freeway.
