HOUSTON -- A lot of questions remained on Monday, days after a missing minister was found at a Houston hospital being treated for stab wounds, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Chester Miles, 42, disappeared on Dec. 3 in his Dodge Neon after dropping off his daughter at school around 8 a.m. in northeast Houston.
He was found in a local hospital, where he had been an unidentified patient since Monday when he was brought in for stab wounds. He was in critical condition in intensive care.
Late Tuesday night, officers found a group of teenagers driving Miles' car. One of the teenagers was arrested and the other was released.
Investigators said Carlos Andre Guillory, 18, gave officers a false identity when he was arrested. He goes by the alias Dante Pickett.
Guillory, of Missouri City, has not been charged in connection with Miles' stabbing.
But Local 2 found a 15-year-old boy who said Guillory attacked him in August.
"Immediately, my boy said, 'Mama, that's him. That's the guy that shot me,'" said the boy's mother, who did not want to be identified. "It's a BB gun today. Tomorrow, it will be a real gun and I believe you need to get this kid off the street before he hurts someone."
That allegation eventually led to Guillory's arrest when he was pulled over in Miles' car because there was an arrest warrant issued for him in Fort Bend County.
Miles' family was critical of Houston police for telling Precinct 5 to release one of the teenagers and to not impound the car.
A respiratory therapist at a local hospital solved the mystery of Miles' whereabouts when she saw his picture as a missing person.
Police hope to present a photo lineup to Miles' Monday night to see if he can identify his attacker.
Miles has been upgraded to stable condition.
