Driver Dies When Truck Falls Off Overpass

HOUSTON -- A driver was killed when his truck fell off a northwest Harris County overpass early Tuesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.Harris County sheriff's deputies said the driver lost control while traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 290 near Kickapoo Road at about 2:15 a.m.Investigators said the truck ran over a grassy median, hit a metal guardrail and hit a concrete retaining wall.The truck and trailer caught fire after it fell off the overpass and onto a grassy area below, officials said.The driver was killed at the scene. The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office will determine his identity.
