Searchers found clues Thursday in the disappearance of a missing groom, according to an exclusive News2Houston report.

Sean McNulty, 30, disappeared Tuesday night as he and his new bride were about to board a plane at Bush Intercontinental Airport bound for their honeymoon in Rome.

Volunteers with the Texas EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery Team searched Thursday at the H&H Ranch near the airport, where search dogs picked up McNulty's scent Wednesday night.

The McNultys were married Sunday in Austin and drove themselves Tuesday morning to Houston, authorities said.

While at the airport, McNulty's wife said her husband discovered that he had forgotten his wallet.

"He realized that he forgot his wallet," Amy McNulty said. "It was in his back pocket, so he thought that it fell out. So, he said, 'I'm going to take the shuttle bus back to the car, get my wallet, and I'll be right back.'"

But he never returned.

"I knew that something was really wrong, because there's no way that he would have just left me there with all of our luggage, everything that we own," Amy McNulty said. "I had everything of his."

Including all of the money, she said.

She said that she called police and then raced to the parking lot where she found the car, but no signs of Sean.

Amy McNulty said that they've checked his credit card, but no charges have been made.

McNulty searched the car for his wallet and passport, but did not find them.

"Police asked me if he had any enemies or anything like that," she said. "We can't think of anything, but that's always a possibility. They're looking into that as well. I've just been terrified. I mean I'm just really scared."

"You think about these things happening to other people on TV and it just doesn't feel real. I mean it just doesn't seem like it's actually happening to you."

An Ampco bus driver told officials Thursday that she remembered driving Sean to his car. When she told him that she'd be right back, he told her, "Don't bother. I'll catch another bus if you can't get back."

Police said someone thought they spotted Sean wandering around the H&H Ranch looking confused.

Amy McNulty said that Sean has battled depression and that someone reportedly slipped him GHB, the date rape drug, recently.

She's adamant that he did not desert her.

"It's totally out of the question," Amy McNulty said.

Searchers said that every clue helps. Fliers have been put up all around the airport.

Sean McNulty's mother said that she couldn't understand his disappearance either.

"He was very happy," his mother, Karren Jundt said. "He was very much at peace with his life."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
