Motorcyclist Hits Mailbox, Dies

HOUSTON -- A motorcyclist was killed when he hit a brick mailbox in northwest Houston early Tuesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.Witnesses told Houston police they heard a motorcycle rev its engine to a high speed in the 3400 block of Tidewater Lane at about 2:20 a.m.A few moments later, witnesses said, there was a scraping sound.Investigators said the rider, whose identity was not released, had just left his girlfriend's home.The motorcyclist died at the scene.
