Principal Sent Home Following Letter
"I would like to bring to your attention an incident that happened earlier today. This afternoon, a student informed two of our principals about another student in possession of a gun.We followed KISD procedures in dealing with the situation. The police called the student out of class and found him with a pistol. During the interrogation of the student, he said he brought the gun for protection after school in regard to an incident in Cullen Park. We, at Mayde Creek High School, are very concerned about drugs and weapons anytime there is a report of those things on campus. We invite all students to be able to talk to security, principals, teachers and/or any adult on campus. We have Safety Net boxes, security cameras in place, and security officers monitoring the halls for your child’s protection. We are very thankful that students feel comfortable talking to administrators or other persons of authority about security issues on campus. The KISD Police are always available to assist with any and all cases concerning the safety of our students. Please encourage your child to feel that they can talk to the police as well as administrators at Mayde Creek High School if they have information important to the safety of the school."Copyright 2007 by Click2Houston.com.
