"This little thing stays with me 24 hours a day," Gladys Jones said.Jones, a lifelong Galveston resident, answers tip calls around the clock."Everyone is responding so remarkable that it's uncanny," she said.Jones said no case she has been a part of has generated as many calls as Baby Grace's case. The case has been emotionally draining for Jones."I have cried with so many people listening to their stories," she said. "I wouldn't have it any other way. I want to do whatever I can now to help."One tip struck her as especially strong."This aunt that hadn't seen her niece in over a year and the last time she remembers seeing her, they were at a Wal-Mart buying her some shoes just like the little girl they found had," Jones said. "That's what made her call me. This is what makes me want to stay with this."Jones sends all the tips to the Galveston County Sheriff's Office, where investigators follow up on all of the leads.A fisherman found Baby Grace in a utility box on a marshy island in Galveston Bay on Oct. 29.Investigators said the girl had blond hair to the middle of her back. She was 2 to 5 years old, nearly 3 feet tall and weighed 25 to 30 pounds. She was wearing a pink pullover top and a pink broom skirt. Both were the Cherokee brand from Target. She also wore white and purple tennis shoes that were children's size 8 1/2 and purchased at Wal-Mart.
