POSTED: Wednesday, October 24, 2007
UPDATED: 2:44 pm CDT October 24, 2007

A traveling replica of the Vietnam War Memorial Wall rolled into Houston on Wednesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

The wall is available for the public to view Thursday through Monday at Veteran's Memorial Park on Tidwell Road near the Hardy Toll Road.

"I am honored to host this memorial as it is symbolic to the sacrifices that great Americans made during difficult times in our country," Councilman Adrian Garcia said.

A veteran's symposium will be held at Sam Houston High School on Saturday to raise awareness of the sacrifices made and to strengthen patriotism. The first session will begin at 9 a.m. with a second session following at 2 p.m.
