Suspected Carjacker Hit By Car

UPDATED: 11:42 am CDT October 4, 2007

A teen suspected of trying to carjack a woman was hit by a car after threatening a security guard, officials told KPRC Local 2.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said two teenagers tried to carjack a woman on Dorking Court near Tenderden Drive early Thursday. One of the teens stepped in front of the car while the other tried to open her door, officials said.

The woman's doors were locked. She stepped on the gas and slightly hit the teen standing in front of her car, investigators said. She told deputies she said she saw the teen get back up.

The two teens went to a nearby shopping center and focused on a security guard, investigators said. The guard was armed with a gun.

"They told me that they had witnessed a robbery or something at the washeteria over here," guard David Castaneda said. "I knew that there's no washeteria around here. Then when I saw the blade, I grabbed my gun and told the suspects to leave the property because there's no trespassing around here."

The teens started walking down the Beltway 8 feeder road near Wallisville Road, where one was hit by a car at about 2:20 a.m.

The teen was transported by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

Deputies said both teens attend high school in the area.

The teens were high on Xanax, investigators said. The second teen was hospitalized because he may have overdosed, deputies said.
