A man accused of killing a pregnant woman in what police called a street-racing wreck was arrested again when he showed up at court on Wednesday, KPRC Local 2 reported. He was charged with the death of the victim's baby, as well.

Cynthia Renovato's family was at the downtown Houston courthouse when the new charges were filed.

Francisca Renovato lost a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter.

"She's not with us anymore. She's not with the baby anymore," she said.

On Wednesday, Devin James, who had already been charged with manslaughter for Cynthia Renovato's death, was charged with a second count of manslaughter -- for the life of her baby girl. Out on bail, he was arrested once more.

"We think about her. We dream about her. Everything is about her right now and I promise her that there's going to be justice," Francisca Renovato said.

Cynthia was killed in July during a traffic accident. She was eight months pregnant at the time and died on the scene.

Her daughter survived the crash, was delivered and placed on life support, but died soon after.

It left her heartbroken husband, Jesus, to raise his 1-year-old baby girl, Jacqueline, without the love of his life.

"Sunday was her birthday. He stayed in and lock himself in the room. It's hard. It's hard," Francisca Renovato said.

Police said James was street-racing on the Gulf Freeway and hit the family's truck, sending it barreling off the roadway and into a concrete pillar.

James' family showed up in court to support him, but did not speak to reporters.

"I feel sorry for them because I know what they're going through. But they also have to understand what we're going through," Francisca Renovato said.

Now, the Renovato family wants justice -- for Cynthia Renovato and the family she left behind.

"That is not going to bring her back, but what about Jacqueline?" Francisca Renovato said.
