Bats Force TSU Students Out Of Dorm

POSTED: Monday, September 17, 2007
UPDATED: 6:01 pm CDT September 17, 2007

Bats forced more than 200 Texas Southern University students out of their dormitory, KPRC Local 2 reported.

University officials said 211 students were moved to a hotel from Lanier Hall East on Saturday.

The bats have been a problem in the dormitory for about two weeks, officials said.

An exterminating company has been working to get rid of the bats for several days.

Officials said they do not know how long it will take to get rid of all of the bats. The university has a 30-day contract with the hotel.

No one has been bitten by a bat, officials said.
