POSTED: Thursday, September 6, 2007
UPDATED: 1:24 pm CDT September 10, 2007

A high-speed police chase ended on a north Harris County freeway with the driver apprehended, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.

The chase started near the North Freeway at West Road shortly before 4 p.m.

Officials said the driver of a red pickup truck was wanted for a narcotics violation.

The chase continued for about 30 minutes along the freeway and service roads.

Other drivers dodged out of the way as the truck driver tried to lose at least a dozen Department of Public Safety and police cars.

The driver eventually had a blowout and he was apprehended.

Officers fired shots to disable the vehicle, but no one was injured.
