Help Needed To Solve Cold Case Killing
POSTED: Wednesday, September 5, 2007
HOUSTON -- Investigators need help identifying and finding the person who killed a woman in her southwest Houston apartment nearly two years ago, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.
Houston police said Tamika Russell's decomposed body was found in a closet in her apartment in the 8800 block of South Braeswood Boulevard on Oct. 11, 2005.
Her body was discovered after neighbors complained of a strong odor coming from the apartment.
Detectives said bloodstains and disarray in the closet indicated that Russell, 31, struggled with her killer.
Police said they have exhausted all of their leads and need help from the public to solve the case.
A $5,000 reward was offered for information about Russell's death. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
