FALFURRIAS, Texas – Border Patrol agents on Tuesday night rescued 14 people they found hidden inside a big rig at the Falfurrias checkpoint.

Agents made the discovery after the driver of the tractor-trailer was referred for secondary inspection following a K-9 alert.
The people were found hidden among bags of onions. Agents had to help the immigrants out of the trailer. Only one person required medical attention.
The driver and passenger were arrested and referred for prosecution. A spokesperson for U.S. Customs and Border Protection said they were both permanent residents from El Salvador.
