Passenger Climbs Out Of SUV, Falls, Dies

POSTED: Monday, August 27, 2007

A man died after he fell from a moving vehicle, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said Eric Rodriquez was a passenger in a GMC Jimmy on the Sam Houston Parkway service road near I-10 at about 1 a.m. Monday.

Rodriquez climbed out of his window while the vehicle was moving. He was attempting to ride on top of the vehicle, officials said.

He fell as he tried to get back into the vehicle, investigators said.

Rodriquez was transported by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he died.

Detectives have not said how fast the vehicle was moving or if Rodriquez or the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Officials have not said if the driver could face charges.
