Police Officer's Gun, Credentials Stolen From Car

POSTED: Monday, August 27, 2007

A police officer's gun and law enforcement credentials were stolen from car, officials told KPRC Local 2.

Friendswood police said a man broke into a car parked in a driveway in the 1400 block of Sunset Drive at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Officials said the man broke the driver's side window and took a purse that was on the floor and a wallet that was on the seat.

Investigators said police credentials from the Texas City Police Department and Galveston County Sheriff's Office were in the stolen items. A Glock Model 23 handgun was also taken, officials said.

The victims said a man was seen looking at a car advertised for sale just before the burglary. The man was white, about 20 years old and was last seen wearing a red, white and black striped shirt, black dress pants and a black hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Friendswood Police Department at 281-996-3300.
