HOUSTON -- An Amber Alert was issued for a missing Houston boy after someone allegedly stole the car he was in, but officials then called the kidnapping completely false.
Police said they searched for Jordan Rodriguez, 5, and the car he was last seen in after the boy's mother reported him missing.
Police said Marissa Aguillar said she was getting gas at the Exxon Station located at Tidwell and IH-45 when an unidentified black man drove off in the car and started heading north on IH-45 with her child.
Rodriguez, however, was found at about 6 p.m. at his grandmother's house.
The allegedly stolen car was located and police said nothing the mother said was found to be true by investigators.
Police said they would continue to investigate.
