HOUSTON -- A trailer full of child safety equipment has been stolen from a Harris County community service center, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said the trailer was stolen from a parking lot in the 9400 block of Jensen Drive at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The trailer contained 85 child safety seats that the sheriff's office had collected for the Safe Kids program. The office had donated Cosco Scenara convertible seats, Evenflo Express Combination seats, Cosco Voyager High Back booster seats and Graco Turbo Backless Low Booster seats valued at more than $3,500.
A witness reported seeing a black truck driving away with the trailer.
The trailer is a white, 5x10 single-axle Explorer trailer with license plate No. 060ZBHC and serial No. 4D6EB10106C010929. It is owned by Texas Children's Hospital.
A $5,000 reward was issued for information that leads to the identification, arrest and charging of the person or persons who stole the trailer. Anyone with information is asked to call 713-222-TIPS.
