High-Speed Chase Ends In Yard

POSTED: Friday, July 6, 2007
UPDATED: 9:08 am CDT July 6, 2007

A high-speed police chase ended Friday in the lawn of a north Houston home, narrowly missing the house, KPRC Local 2 reported.

The chase began when officers spotted a stolen minivan on the North Freeway near East Crosstimbers at about 12:15 a.m.

The driver took off when officers tried to pull him over, according to authorities, but lost control at a small curve in the road on Fulton Street and went across a median.

The minivan then crashed into a small motor home, which was parked near a home.

A chain-link fence helped stop the car from crashing into the home.

The chase suspect tried to hide, but was apprehended a short time later with the help of a police helicopter and K-9 units, officials said.

The driver faces multiple charges, including operating a stolen vehicle and eluding police.
