UPDATED: 11:33 am CDT July 1, 2007

A pizza delivery driver was beaten to death at a southeast Houston tire shop, officials told KPRC Local 2 Saturday.

Police said the driver pulled over at Shannon's Tire Shop, on Martin Luther King Boulevard at Reed, after a problem with his tire.

A light-brown Ford Explorer pulled in behind him and the driver beat up the pizza driver, who later died at a hospital, according to authorities.

Investigators are looking for the Explorer, which had a Texas license plate starting with 856.

Police do not know the motive behind the beating.

The attacker escaped. The victim's name was not released.
