Sewage Leak On Long Flight Angers Passengers

Lavatories Spring Leak

POSTED: Thursday, June 21, 2007

On a long overseas plane flight, you might expect a little turbulence, maybe a bad meal, but some passengers had to deal with raw sewage recently for many hours.

A Continental plane flying from Ireland to New Jersey began leaking sewage from the lavatories, a problem that continued throughout the long flight.

There were more than 200 passengers on board and only one-half of a working bathroom.

Flight attendants told passengers to avoid eating or drinking so they wouldn't have to use the restroom.

Continental said it has apologized to passengers and issued travel vouchers for everyone on board.
