Car Slams Into High-End Dealership

POSTED: Friday, June 15, 2007
UPDATED: 1:34 pm CDT June 15, 2007

A southwest Houston car dealership's employees spent Friday cleaning up after a car slammed into a building, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Leonard Ross said a pickup truck hit his car on the Southwest Freeway near Fountain View Drive while driving to work.

Houston police said the pickup truck did not stop.

Ross said he lost control and ended up slamming into Expo Motors.

Several vehicles inside the dealership were damaged, including an Aston Martin worth more than $150,000.

"I thought it was a really bad dream," manager David Lee said. "This is pretty bad."

Lee said there is about $300,000 worth of damage to cars and about another $100,000 in damage to the building.

Ross said his two children were the first things he thought about after the crash, but then he thought of the irony.

"I always dreamed of owning one of these," Ross said. "I never expected to get close to them this quick."

Witnesses told police the pickup driver appeared to be intoxicated.

"We're looking for a Hispanic male driver," Sgt. J.J. Wilson said. "The pickup truck is going to have extensive damage to the front end."

Investigators said the pickup truck was a red Ford F-150. Witnesses told police the first three numbers on the license plate are 78R.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
