Sketch Of Man Preying On Girls In Bed Released

HPD: Strange Man Crawls Into Bed With Girl

POSTED: Friday, May 18, 2007
UPDATED: 6:06 pm CDT May 18, 2007

A composite sketch of a man accused of crawling into bed with a 10-year-old girl in north Houston, as well as other victims, was released Friday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston police said the man, who was only wearing gray boxer shorts, got into the girl's bed at her home on Roxella Street near McGallion Road just before 3 a.m. Friday.

Investigators said the girl was asleep with her brother when she woke up because someone touched her shoulder.

The girl discovered the man and told him to leave because her father was at home, police said, and the man ran out of the home while the brother woke up their parents.

Police said the man got in through a window that the family opened to keep their home cool. The man walked past the parents' bedroom and into the children's room, officials said.

Detectives said the girl's father unsuccessfully tried to find the man.

The girl's grandparents said they are livid.

"I don't care if I kill somebody," grandmother Linda Dehoyan said. "If anybody hurts my family, I will get them."

Officials said there might be as many as 10 victims, ranging from 4 years old to 46.

"His M.O. is he creeps into the residence and walks through, looking for sleeping a female. He has completely undifferentiated as far as age of the victim," said Lt. William Staney with the Houston Police Department. "He'll fondle them in their sleep. He'll expose himself, fondle himself. When someone wakes up and surprises him, he runs out and escapes on foot."

The case is similar to an attack on a 4-year-old girl sleeping in her home on Apache Street near Irvington Boulevard on May 10.

The girl was asleep with her grandmother and brother when a man got into bed next to her and exposed himself, investigators said.

The grandmother said the man did it to her a week and a half before.

Detectives said they believe the predator may live in the neighborhood.

"I just hope they catch him," Dehoyan said. "We have crazy people out here."

Investigators said the man has targeted the following streets, so residents should take precautions.
  • Kenco Street
  • Apache Street
  • Eubanks Street
  • 1900 Block Of East Crosstimbers Blvd.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. A $5,000 reward is being offered in the case.
