FRIENDSWOOD, Texas -- A vehicle slammed into a bank building in Friendswood on Monday morning, KPRC Local 2 reported.
The car went through the Patriot Bank at FM 518 at FM 528 at about 11 a.m., according to authorities.
The elderly driver said she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake.
She was checked out at the scene, and is expected to be OK.
No one else was injured.
There were nine employees and two customers inside the bank at the time of the crash, officials said.
The car went halfway into the building and had to be pulled out by tow trucks.
The bank suffered extensive damage and will be closed Monday for repairs.
