HPD: Captured Sex Offender May Have More Victims

POSTED: Friday, April 13, 2007
UPDATED: 1:37 pm CDT April 13, 2007

A convicted child predator was accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy, and police think he may have more victims, KPRC Local 2 reported Friday.

Houston police said Patrick Wayne Ford, 40, served 10 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault on a child before being released in 2003.

Ford picked up the teenager, who had missed his school bus on March 21, police said.

HPD spokesman J.T. Roscoe said Ford took the teenager back to his apartment in the 12600 block of Northborough Drive in northwest Houston.

"He gets some narcotics out and some alcohol out and tells the complainant to take them," Roscoe said. "The complainant refuses. The suspect verbally threatens the complainant with a firearm."

Ford is charged with aggravated sexual abuse of a child, police said.

Police said Ford used similar intoxicating tactics in two prior attacks on two 16-year-old boys for which he served time in prison.

A search of his apartment at the North Point complex turned up several weapons and drug paraphernalia, police said.

The apartment manager said Ford was not registered on the lease for the apartment.

Ford was registered as a sex offender at a different address, police said.

Investigators said Ford had been registered at the wrong address for at least two years prior to his arrest.

Anyone with information about other possible incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
