Bus Collision Causes Injuries, Power Outage
POSTED: Thursday, April 5, 2007
HOUSTON -- A collision between a bus and a car left nearly a dozen people injured and a northeast Houston neighborhood without power, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.
METRO police said a car slammed into the front of a METRO bus on Mary Street near Lorraine Street at about 11 a.m.
About a dozen people were transported to nearby hospitals for non-life threatening injures, police said.
A power line that serviced a neighborhood and a school was knocked down during the collision. CenterPoint Energy crews were called out to restore electricity.
Police said a stop sign that was turned the wrong way may have contributed to the collision.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
