Utility Pole Crash Causes Power Outage

HOUSTON -- A southeast Houston neighborhood lost power after a car crashed into a utility pole early Monday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston police said someone crashed a car into the pole on Ridgeway Drive near St. Lo Road at about 12:45 a.m.

Officials were originally told that someone may have been trapped inside the car, but when they arrived they discovered that the driver had fled.

CenterPoint Energy crews said three power lines were broken, knocking out power to several blocks.
