Car Hits Taco Stand After Drive-Through Crash

POSTED: Monday, February 5, 2007

A car slammed into a taco stand after it crashed into a sport utility vehicle at a fast-food drive-through late Sunday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the sport utility vehicle was waiting at a drive-through at a Popeye's on Fry Road near Morton Road in Katy at about 11:30 p.m.

A car crashed into the sport utility vehicle and pushed it forward, officials said.

The car went over a curb, ran over several electrical and telephone boxes, went through a gasoline station's parking lot and slammed into a taco stand, deputies said.

Investigators said the car's driver was likely intoxicated.

The driver was arrested, officials said.

No serious injuries were reported.
