Woman Kidnapped During Carjacking, Shooting

HOUSTON -- A woman is missing after the vehicle she was riding in was carjacked and the driver was shot, officials told KPRC Local 2.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said two men carjacked the couple on Synott Road near Bissonnet Street in southwest Harris County at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Jackiene Marisol Castillo, 25, was still inside the truck when the men took off with it, investigators said.

"What we're concentrating on is recovering this female," Sgt. Rolph Nelson said. "If she's still in the vehicle, fine. If not, we just need to locate this female and insure her safety."

Officials said the men shot Richard Ballard in the abdomen. He walked to a residence for help and was later transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Detectives are looking for a white 2004 Ford F-350 pickup truck with Texas license plate 9LS G86.
