HOUSTON -- Homicide investigators released a picture Monday of a three-dimensional facial model of a man who was found dead in 2005, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Houston police said forensic artist Lois Gibson reconstructed the man's skeletal remains into the model in hopes that someone will recognize him.
Grass cutters found the man's remains in an overgrown field in the 2000 block of Lamar Street on April 27.
Detectives said the man was in his 50s or 60s and about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build. He had brown hair with some gray hair about three inches in length.
The man was found wearing a dark T-shirt, an ivory colored jacket, brown boots and blue or black denim jeans attached at the front of his waist with a rope.
Investigators said they found one red die, a green plastic lighter, a lock-blade knife and a steel wristwatch made in China on the man's body.
Officials said he may have been homeless.
The man's DNA was submitted to the Texas missing person's database, but a match was not found.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Houston Police Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
