SUGAR LAND, Texas -- Investigators said there is a possible link between a person of interest wanted in connection with a volunteer firefighter's murder and a bank robbery Tuesday morning in Fort Bend County, officials told KPRC Local 2.
Sugar Land police responded to the robbery at the Chase Bank in the 2400 block of State Highway 6 at about 9 a.m.
Officials said a man wearing a stocking cap and glasses, and carrying a silver pistol, ordered everyone in the bank to the floor.
The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Witnesses said the man was last seen running toward Carrabba's parking lot.
Police said the man is black, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 180 to 190 pounds.
Surveillance pictures showed that the robber resembles the man wanted for questioning in connection with the death of Steven Jackson, officials said.
Jackson, 47, was shot and killed after he followed a man who police said robbed a Shell gasoline station on F.M. 1960 near North Avenue H on Dec. 5.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
