Car Stolen In Double Killings Found

POSTED: Thursday, December 14, 2006

A car stolen from a home where a mother and daughter were found dead has been found, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston police said the 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix was found in the parking lot of the Trailwood Village Apartments in the 2100 block of Lake Ridge Drive at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

"This is a major discovery," Sgt. John Roberts said. "This is an important piece of evidence and hopefully we've got some witnesses that saw the car get here."

A witness said the car had only been at the apartment complex for a few minutes before a Houston police officer found it.

A family member found Lucy Maloney, 83, and Deborah Maloney, 56, dead inside their home in the 3100 block of Silver Falls Drive at about 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said it appears the women were shot to death.

Investigators said there were no signs of forced entry into the home and nothing inside the home was taken.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Houston Police Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
