UPDATED: 8:53 am CST December 14, 2006

A teen who was on his way to Houston from Louisiana is missing, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.

Texas EquuSearch officials said Angelo Britton, 16, left his home in Alexandria, La., on Dec. 8. He was headed to his father's home in Houston but never arrived.

Britton's car, a 1999 dark blue Toyota Corolla, was found abandoned in a parking lot in the 300 block of Benbrook Drive on Dec. 10.

Britton's car was found a few blocks away from Melrose Park, where Wilmer Figueroa, 23, was shot and killed during a carjacking and robbery on the same night.

Officials said Britton is black, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds.

Anyone with information about Britton is asked to contact Texas EquuSearch at 281-309-9500.
