HOUSTON -- A Houston radio station took aim at terrorists Tuesday by beginning a fundraising campaign to buy a bomb to be dropped over Afghanistan.
KSEV 700 AM hopes to give Houstonians a chance to show their patriotism while helping fund the fight against terrorism.
Loyal listeners came through with cash.
"I think it's great. I think it shows the patriotism and everybody coming together and supporting this. I think it's wonderful," listener Bonnie Barron said.
The radio station sold 2,000 CDs at the Taste of Texas restaurant. The CD is entitled "Bend Over Bin Laden." The $10 cost goes straight to the "buy a bomb" campaign.
"I bought five. Four are going to my friends across the United States -- in Oklahoma, Kentucky and Atlanta," listener Gary Willett said.
KSEV raised enough money to send to the U.S. military to cover the cost of a bomb.
"This is not against any religion or country. It's against thugs. People that are just horrible terrorists," disc jockey Edd Hendee said.
Every person who buys a CD puts his or her name in a bowl for drawing. If their name is picked, they'll be flown to Washington, D.C. to sign the bomb.
