POSTED: Friday, October 27, 2006
UPDATED: 9:16 am CDT October 27,2006

Two men smashed a minivan into a store in an attempt to break into it, officials told KPRC Local 2.

Officials said the men tried to break into the People's Pawn shop on Aldine Bender Road near Imperial Valley Drive at about 4:30 a.m. Friday.

The minivan got stuck on metal posts outside the store, causing it to stick up in the air and strike the store's front door and windows.

Burglar bars on the store were not penetrated, officials said.

Officials said the men ran from the scene when they were not able to break into the store.

The minivan had been reported stolen, police said.
