HOUSTON -

A child almost drowned at a southwest Houston home on Friday.

Houston firefighters said a 10-month-old was pulled from a tub inside an apartment on Windsor Village Drive near Fondren about 10:30 a.m.

Neighbors said the boy was being bathed when he nearly drowned.

Investigators said that the little boy's mother was preparing a bottle for him downstairs while he was in the bathtub upstairs.

Paramedics gave the boy CPR and rushed him to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. He was later transferred to Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital and was placed in the intensive care unit.

Police said that the mother does have another child who wasn't home at the time and Children's Protective Services has been notified.

But according to police, they don't expect the mother to face any criminal charges in this case.
