Officials say two men went inside the store and held the clerks at gunpoint.

While one of the men took cash from the register, the other held an employee down, police said.

Officials say the two men took off running across the parking lot. That's when a customer in a pickup truck, who saw what had happened, followed the men to a nearby neighborhood.

There, one of the men was shot. Police say it's unclear if the customer shot him or if he shot himself by accident.

When police arrived, the wounded man was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition. The other man was taken into custody.

The store's manager says all the money was recovered. This is also the second time he has been robbed.
